Statutory and sporty on and off-roads, comfortable and fully equipped, the muscular Audi Q8 quattro combines the elegance of a four-door luxury coupé and a large SUV - making itperfectly fit for both business and leisure. The powerful 3.0 liters V6 petrol engine delivers 250 kW (340 hp) and top efficiency coupled to 48V mild hybrid. Permanent quattro all-wheel drive and up to 220 millimeters ground clearance keep the Audi Q8 going when paved roads end.
Versatile, sporty, elegant Q top model The Audi Q8 exudes sporty dynamics and upscale prestige like no other SUV from the brand with the four rings. 4.986 meters long, 2.190 meters wide and 1.715 meters tall, the SUV coupé is wider, shorter and lower than its Q7 sister model. With a wheelbase of nearly 3 meters, it offers an unrivalled spacious interior, including interior length and headroom. The three-seat system in the rear can be slid forward and backward as desired. The luggage compartment of the SUV coupe holds 605 liters as standard, which increases to 1,755 liters with the rear backrests folded down. Two golf bags can easily fit in crosswise. Power rear hatch and electric luggage compartment cover are other convenient features. Guided on rails, the cover automatically retracts when the tailgate is opened and is extended again upon closing.
A real statement The imposing Singleframe in octagonal design, brawny radiator grille upright together with the spoiler drawn toward the front and the large highly contoured air inlets exude self-confidence. Elegantly sloping roofline, strong contours and athletically tight surfaces convey a feeling of power, sophistication and the special dynamics of permanent all-wheel drive. With HD matrix LED headlights, each high beam comprises 24 individual LEDs. They illuminate the road dynamically and precisely while excluding other road users from the cone of light. They also serve as the cornering light. The iconic signature continues to the light strip connecting the rear. With the leaving home function, a dimmed point of light first swipes from the inside out when the SUV is unlocked. It then moves back at full brightness to fully illuminate the segments. With the coming home function, this sequence plays out in reverse when leaving the Audi Q8.
Auto Trophy 2020 Winner With 1st place victories in five categories, Audi achieved a major success in the 33rd edition of the Auto Trophy readers’ poll organized by Auto Zeitung magazine in November 2020. The A1 Sportback, A3 Sportback, Q2, Q8, and e-tron Sportback models each won in their categories. 18,811 readers of Auto Zeitung voted on the best brands and models from a total of 442 cars in 21 categories. Auto Trophy 2020 Winner, the Audi Q8 dominated in the “Luxury SUV” category with 13.9 percent of the votes.
Sophisticated Aluminum body and Aeroacoustics With its high level of stiffness, the Audi Q8 bodykeeps away background noise and ensures sporty, precise handling. Manufactured at Audi plant in Bratislava, Audi Space Frame concept contains numerous lightweight aluminum and hot-formed steel components. The latter form the ultra-high strength backbone of the passenger compartment – their content in the body-in-white is 14.4 percent. Cast aluminum parts make up 15 percent, as for example the suspension strut towers in the engine compartment and the connecting parts between sills and longitudinal members. The side panel, large floor areas, rear wheel housings, frameless doors, front fenders, tailgate and roof are made of aluminum plates, making up 23.7 percent of the body-in-white. Thus the curb weight of the Audi Q8 is 2,170 kilograms – including the complex MHEV technology with lithium-ion battery.
The frontal area of 2.84 m2 and a cd value of 0.34 ensure relatively low drag. A double-layer windshield is standard as well as acoustic and heat insulating glass on the side windows.The Audi Q8 interior exudes a feeling of calm, thanks to the complex sound insulation and aerodynamics.
In the United States, the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) awarded in 2019 the Audi Q8 Top Safety Pick. In Europe, the Audi Q8 was awarded the top five stars at EuroNCAP safety tests.
Mild Hybrid sporty drive The powerful 3.0 TFSI V6 petrol engine produces 250 kW (340 hp) and 500 Nm of torque. The Audi Q8 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. Top speed is 250 km/h. A fast and smooth-shifting, eight-speed tiptronic transfers the power to the quattro drivetrain. Special ventilation allows off-road use. With its electric oil pump, the tiptronic can engage the gear required for restarting while coasting with the engine switched off.
The new mild hybrid technology (MHEV) makes the Q8 drive systems particularly efficient. The 48-volt main electrical system incorporates a lithium-ion battery and a belt alternator starter. Braking recovers up to 12 kW of power back into the battery. The MHEV technology enables long coasting phases with the engine deactivated and a start-stop range that begins at 22 km/h. In customer operation, it reduces consumption by up to 0.7 liters per 100 kilometers.
Top quattro model Audi is quattro, quattro is Audi and the Audi Q8 is the top model of the Audi quattro family. The purely mechanical center differential transfers the forces to the front axle and rear axle at a ratio of 40:60 as standard. When required, it transfers the majority to the axle with the better traction. The suspension with damper control makes a crucial contribution to the sporty handling. The five-link front and rear suspensions are made largely of aluminum. The transmission ratio of the standard progressive steering becomes increasingly direct as the steering angle increases. Six-piston brakes with fixed aluminum calipers are fitted to the front axle.
The seven different driving profiles in Audi drive include the off-road program. With hill descent control, the electronic chassis platform captures the tilt angle of the car and displays this information for the driver on the MMI. On steep slopes over 6 percent, the hill descent control provides support with automatic braking input. The system keeps the speed set by the driver at a constant level up to a maximum of 30 km/h, allowing the driver to fully focus on the terrain. 220 millimeters of ground clearance, short overhangs, quattro and hill descent control and suspension with damper control all keep the Audi Q8 going forward when paved roads end.
Stylish and statutory look Outside, the paint range for the Audi Q8 offers up to thirteen colors which underline the sporty design. New colors include dragon orange and galaxy blue. In the Audi Q8, the S line exterior matt grays further increases the effect of the Singleframe, the blade, the sill trim and the diffuser insert. The Audi Q8 comes with 21 inch alloy wheels in 5-spoke W-style, Contrast Gray, partly polished design with 285/45 R21 tires.
Inside, the inlays are made of aluminium and Audi Q8 customers have several colors and configurations available. The five seats come in Cricket leather, including at the back which can split or fold plus feature a foldable center armrest. In the dark, the contour ambient multicolor light traces the distinctive design lines of the interior and provides backlight for the three-dimensionally lasered quattro badge above the glove compartment – an example for the love of detail at Audi.
Four-zone automatic air conditioning includes the new filter in the air conditioning system removes fine particulates and harmful gases from the air and also neutralizes a majority of all allergens.
Clearly premium The fully digital Audi virtual cockpit high-resolution 12.3-inch conveniently displays all relevant information for the driver. 360 degree cameras are standard in the Audi Q8 for additional convenience and safety, whether parking in the city or on long journeys. The upper MMI touch response display is the central element of the interior of the Audi Q8. The MMI upper 10.1-inch touch screen controls the infotainment while the 8.6-inch below the air conditioning and convenience functions. Operation is swift and simple: A tactile and acoustic click confirms when a finger activates a function.
