Ho Chi Minh City, July 10th, 2017 - Golden Steering Wheel Compact SUV 2016 award winner, the Audi Q2 had just been distinguished in Germany as Gold Winner of German Design Award 2017, the coveted Red Dot “Best of the Best” Product Design 2017 and Gold in ladies Choice by Bild am Sonntag in Germany. The Audi Q2 ranks also at the top in safety with five stars at Euro Ncap crash test in Europe.

In Vietnam the #untaggable Audi Q2 was unveiled in Ho Chi Minh City last October at Vietnam International Motor Show 2016 at the same time as it was launched in Germany. Visitors could appreciate the new geometric design language of the new Audi Q2 who had just been awarded Golden Steering Wheel Compact SUV 2016. The #untaggable Audi Q2 collected a number of impressive distinctions worldwide since then.
In February 2017, the Audi Q2 became honored with the gold in the German Design Award competition. At the award ceremony the compact SUV claimed victory with the highest award for “Excellent Production Design – Transportation” category. Its individualistic, polygonal design was noted as particularly impressive.

“The Audi Q2 surprises with a design that is fully independent and not just a scaled-down version of its big brother,” the jury said in their decision. The new SUV presents itself as an automobile with balanced proportions, which offers plenty of space for its class and is at least as much fun. “This elegant car has the potential to be a trendsetter,” according to the jury’s summary.“
The polygonal design of the Audi Q2 brings new facets to the brand’s formal idiom. At the front, a strong image is created by the Singleframe grille in octagonal design that is positioned up high as well as by the large air inlets. On its flanks the Q2 plays with polygon forms. Below the windows, the sharply drawn shoulder line divides into two contours, one above the other. They frame a concave surface with six corners. The concave shape of the flanks emphasizes the wheels and with them the quattro character of the Audi Q2. The interior takes up the taut and angular form language of the exterior. Despite the coupé-like roof line and compact outer dimensions, adults enjoy ample head and leg room in the rear. One highlight in the interior is the LED lighting package with backlit decorative trim. These shine with a homogeneous light that can be selected from ten colors using the control system.

“A stringent brand design with strong, independent products – that is the goal of our new design strategy,” said Audi Head of Design Marc Lichte. .
The German Design Award presented by the German Design Council is one of the most prestigious competitions in the design industry. With the prize, the international jury panel recognizes innovative products and projects that break new ground in the German and international design world.

In April 2017, the Audi Q2 received the much coveted Red Dot “Best of the Best” Award. The Red Dot Award: Product Design 2017 is one of the most prestigious design competitions worldwide. This year the independent, international jury of experts received and assessed submissions from 54 countries. The Red Dot jury awarded the Red Dot: Best of the Best prize to the Audi Q2 for its superior design quality and trendsetting design.

Audi Q2 won gold in Germany’s Biggest Ladies’ Choice. In May 2017, 4,189 women with a driver’s license between the ages of 18 and 69 selected their favorite SUV at the behest of Bild am Sonntag newspaper and the Innofact market research firm. The design, price and the desire to own were included in the assessment. The results were clear: Germany’s women rated the Audi Q2 number one among 93 competitors – a major triumph for the brand with the four rings, just eight months after its market launch in Germany.
Clearly a nice looking car with a trend setting design, the new Audi Q2 is now also recognized worldwide as a car at the top in safety ranking. The Audi Q2 received in 2017 the top grade of Five stars in the Euro NCAP test, confirming its place among the safest vehicles in the competition. The Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) has been investigating the crash performance of new car models since it was established in 1997. In order to simulate real-life accident conditions better, the consortium continually tightens crash safety requirements.
