Seven years after the birth of the A5 Sportback*, the new version now makes its appearance. The five-door coupé blends elegant, emotional design with high functionality and abundant interior comfort. The family-friendly car is the next generation. Indeed this second generation comes with a completely reengineered suspension, high-performance drives and innovative driver assistance systems. The A5 Sportback* takes to the road with a four-cylinder turbo engine developing 252 hp and 370 Nm.

The Audi designers have brought together dramatic shapes and athletically taut surfaces in the design of the new A5 Sportback. The stretched wheelbase, the short overhangs and the long, wraparound front lid with power dome emphasize the dynamism of the five-door coupé. The three-dimensionally modeled Singleframe grille is significantly flatter and wider than on the previous model.

The wave-pattern shoulder line imparts the A5 Sportback with emotional elegance. It is even more strongly accentuated than on the previous model and traces all three dimensions. This creates an interplay of light and shadow. The pronounced bulges over the wheel arches underscore the quattro DNA. The rear end exhibits horizontal, equally highly precise styling. The stretched luggage compartment lid terminates with a characteristic spoiler edge.

The new Audi A5 Sportback has grown in virtually all dimensions. The interior has gained
17 millimeters in length. The shoulder room has also been increased for both the driver (plus nine millimeters) and the front passenger (plus eleven millimeters). Knee room in the back has even increased by 24 millimeters. The sophisticated materials, precision of fit and color harmonies in the interior are typical of Audi. The horizontal architecture of the instrument panel creates a sense of spaciousness. The ambient lighting with 30 colors to choose from always evokes a fitting interior mood.
With 480 liters of luggage capacity, the A5 Sportback rates among the best in its class. Audi also offers the option of sensor control for opening and closing the standard-fit electric luggage compartment lid.

Thanks to the all-new operating and display concept, the driver can control all functions effortlessly and intuitively. The 5” color driver information system display brings the driver added convenience.

Compact and clearly arranged for direct access to important functions, the rotated arrangements of the “Menu” and “Back” buttons in the Multi Media Interface control panel is ergonomic to simplify the use. MMI radio plus includes a 7-inch color monitor and a high quality sound system. Bluetooth and USB charging are standard. The shift paddles on the leather multifunction steering wheel add ensure full control and further ease of operation.

The optional Bang & Olufsen Sound System with innovative 3D sound opens up the spatial dimension of height and gives the driver the sense of sitting in a concert hall. Its amplifier supplies 755 watts of power to 19 loudspeakers.

The Audi A5 Sportback* sets new standards in its class with an extensive choice of driver assistance systems including cruise control and Stop&Go to save fuel. An intelligent combination of different technologies enhances safety, comfort and efficiency. The A5 Sportback has been awarded five stars at Euro NCAP confirming its place among the safest vehicles in the competition. The new Audi A5 Sportback received top grades for active and passive safety, including pedestrian protection.

The Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) has been investigating the crash performance of new car models since it was established in 1997. In order to simulate real-life accident conditions better, the consortium continually tightens crash safety requirements.

The wide track and comparatively long wheelbase are key features of the balanced, sporty suspension tuning. The track width is 1,587 millimeters at the front and 1,568 millimeters at the rear. The wheelbase measures 2,824 millimeter. The front axle features redesigned five-link suspension, while a five-link construction replaces the trapezoidal-link rear suspension used previously. The standard Audi drive select dynamic handling system makes for a driving experience that is both dynamic and comfortable. The new electromechanical power steering provides better road feedback and steering precision.

The new Audi A5 Sportback is fitted with the 2.0 liters TFSI engine producing 185 kW (252 hp) of power. Compared with the previous model, Audi has reduced their fuel consumption by as much as 11 percent while increasing power output by 9 percent.
The seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission drivetrain technology comes with quattro all-wheel drive. The Audi A5 Sportback accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds, and on up to an electronically governed top speed of 250 km/h.

The body of the new Audi A5 Sportback is the lightest in the segment. An intelligent mix of materials makes it 15 kilograms lighter than that of the predecessor. The overall weight of the new generation has fallen by as much as 220 kilograms to just 1,470 kilograms, excluding the driver.

Comfort in the new Audi A5 Sportback can be appreciated in all seats at the front and the rear with a leather touch of sophistication. The Sports seats in the front are electrically adjustable with lumbar support. The driver seat features memory function and the front armrest adds to the overall comfort feel.

On November 29th 2016, the new Audi A5 Sportback received from Auto Zeitung readers the “Auto Trophy 2016” award in the mid-size category. Audi was the most successful brand with seven awards for Audi A1, Audi Q2, Audi Q5, Audi A5 Sportback, Audi Q7, “Best brand” and “Best design”. This was the 29th time that Auto Zeitung has presented the “Auto Trophy” awards. Nearly 60,000 readers participated in the voting. The trophies are among the most prestigious prizes in the automotive industry and are presented in 24 categories.

Additional equipment available as option enhances further the scope for individual design expression.

The Audi A5 Sportback rolls off the assembly line at the main Audi plant in Ingolstadt and is launched in Vietnam in May 2017.

The Audi A5 Sportback quattro APEC limited edition includes black body color, Bang & Olufsen sound system, suspension with damping control, head-up display, antitheft alarm, luggage compartment lining and specific 19 inches alloy wheels. 26 Audi A5 Sportback APEC limited edition have been produced by AUDI AG for Vietnam.
